Hi! So this recipe is DEFINITELY worth sharing, unlike my chicken pot pie a la crock pot, which is coming shortly. This meal is DELISH! It is not an easy peasy one, but is totally worth it. Try it..Like now.
INGREDIENTS/DIRECTIONS:
about 2/3 cup diced onion
about 2/3 cup diced mixed mushrooms (I used shitake, baby bella)
about 2/3 cup diced carrots
Heat about two tablespoons olive oil in large sauce/stock pan
Add (heaping) tablespoon of minced garlic (can NEVER get enough of this)
Add the mushrooms and onions. Saute for about 5 minutes until brown. Then add carrots. Cook for about 3 more minutes.
Add about 3/4 pound of ground meat. I used turkey. Cook for about 8 minutes, stirring often so to chop up meat and cook thoroughly. Then, add the tomatoes, dash of salt, dash of pepper, dash of garlic salt, few dashes of sugar (I like my gravy sweet), dash of parsley and one tablespoon chopped thyme (I used fresh)
Simmer for 20 minutes on medium. While it is simmering, cook your pasta. I prefer Barilla. I prefer al dente
Reward your kitchen helper.
Serve and devour. ENJOY!
