A Post for Bri- YOGA-Style

So I followed a link that was touted to help you “make friends with your body.” (out of curiosity) from www.carrotsncake.com , a great heathly living blog. OF COURSE that caught my eye.  But when I got there, it was another section of this article that really intrigued me.  It listed “ten of our favorite Yoga postures.”

BRI!?!?!  Are you reading this? I might have to get her to “guest post” on here and respond to this article.  Following is the list of the 10 best.  Click on the site for more pictures.  What are your thoughts? 

1. Utthita Parsvakonasana — Extended Side Angle Pose

Stretches the hips, groins, hamstrings, and calves; shoulders, chest, and spine

2. Ardha Matsyendrasana — Half Lord of The Fishes Pose

Energizes the spine, opens the shoulder, neck and hips.

3. Balasana — Child’s Pose

Restores balance to your body and releases tension in your back, shoulders, and chest.

4. Parivrtta Janu Sirsasana — Revolved Head to Knee Pose

Stretches the spine, shoulders, and hamstrings.

5. Halasana — Plow Pose

Calms the mind and reduces stress and fatigue.

6. Ustrasana — Camel Pose

Stretches the entire front of the body and helps improve posture.

7. Utthita Trikonasana — Extended Triangle Pose

Stimulates the abdominal organs, helps relieve stress, improves digestion.

8. Urdhva Dhanurasana — Wheel

Stretches the shoulders and chest, strengthens arms.

9. Parivrtta Ardha Chandrasana — Revolved Half Moon

Improves balance, cleanses the organs.

10. Urdhva Prasarita Eka Padasana — Standing Split

Calms the mind, stimulates the liver and kidneys. 

So, I tend to agree with this list- there are some difficult but quite cleansing postures on there.  I know my girl Bri incorporates most if not all of these into her sequencing.  Anyway, thought this was interesting (love me some child’s pose, by the way)!

YES!  haha!  You have to understand…I LOVE sweet potatoes.  For real.  We go together like pb&j.  YUM!

Ok, anyway, the list was as follows:

Almonds

Berries

Cinnamon (my sweet potato topping!)

Mustard (wish it were with soft pretzels)

Oranges

Soybeans

Sweet Potatoes (yeehaw!)

Swiss Cheese (unfortch. not my favorite)

Changed my “about” page and other stuff tonight

Changed some things tonight:

1.  My ABOUT blog page-  ummmm…was someone going to warn me that it was really…how do I say this…DUMB!  Come on people!  Fixed that.  Done and done.  Check it out.

2. Changed the toe nail polish.  Didn’t do that bad either!  Got this AMAZING color by OPI…something about tapas-got it- “Can you tapas this?”  LOVE IT (the name AND the color!)  It’s like “rum raisiny” or something.

3.  Changed out of my work clothing and into my comfy clothes (note:  eternity scarf STILL on)

OK, so this was actually me on the way to work (with my new puffy Old Navy coat and H & M infinity scarf), but I REALLY wanted a picture for good-blogging reasons!  Anyway, you get the point.

(Excuse the blurriness-Blackberry pic) I have to point out that this would be the “one with nature style” mentioned on Lindsay’s blog, Goodies Galore , which as I told Lindsay, I might be considered at times, but then on the other hand, I was in the middle of packing my Louis suicase.  Dichotomous, I am…I know. 😉
