Malaga wine, so divine!

Funny story; over a year ago I saw this lovely color on Lisa’s blog (pampered with Paige) and have looked for it during every pedicure since…except yesterday. Now yesterday I was sorta out of it when I went for my pedi and so I just grabbed the most magnificent color I could find. And when I sat down in the pedicure chair, flipped that baby over…I saw I had picked /found the precious Malaga wine by opi! I was psyched! Do you like? What’s ur fave Mani/ pedi color?

Multi-tasking from the whirlpool

Yup…you read that right. So if you are reading this post it means my phone successfully did NOT fall in. Anyway this morning I woke up fairly early (for me)-9 am. I’ve been falling asleep uber early, between 10 and 11 so my early rising makes sense. Today was supposed to be an off day but I was craving the Cybex machine so off to the gym I went. I was supporting my fave fro-yo place (duh) Phileo, by sporting my special tee. So now I’m ” cooling ” down (not really…more like heating up) in the whirlpool. I did an hour on the cybex and it said I burned 703 calories. Do you believe the machines when they calculate that stuff? Do tell! PS look at Oscar in workout mode. Lol

Yesterday we got out of school early due to the “inclement weather” so I was able to explore my city in daylight! I headed straight over to Lululemon to try my hand at finding a good pair of workout pants. I had been previously unsuccessful but not yesterday! I ended up going for the groove pant (hence my groove pose hehe) and I might have gotten a running outfit as well…gift cert, people! Hehe what’s your fave Lulu item?

I used to land in Vegas…

LOL.  That title refers to the words of a song that I THOUGHT I was singing.  Note, the line is “Houstatlantavegas” (as in Houston, Atlanta and Vegas rolled into one word).  NOW, we are not debating the stupidity of lyrics because that is a WHOLE ‘nother discussion, but have you ever SWORN the words to a song were X and turned out to be….like B?!??!? SOOOO funny…this particular ditty comes from a Drake song, Houstatlantavegas (used to land in Vegas) LOL.  Definitely check out this song…and laugh at my ridiculousness.  Other funny ones that stick out in my head…

“To the republic for which it stands” (pledge of allegiance) was once turned into “To the Republic for Richard Stance…”  by an 8 year old..who then asked, “Who is Richard Stance…”  seriously.

How about this one…” Sitting on top of the world, Ricki Lake’s hanging free”  – originally “sitting on top of the world, with your legs hanging free.”  (Dave Matthews Band) LOL  How funny!?!?!  Are there song lyrics you have badly butchered?  DO tell!

Horray for the 2-a-day!

I just finished a mixed media workout at an unspecified gym Hehe…1000 metre swim followed by a 2 mile run. I am spent! The swim was fabulous; I was really loving the pool temperature. The run, however, kicked my bum! I had a darn cramp on my left side the ENTIRE time. Oh well…all’s well that ends well!
As you can see I took a break from my swim cap today as I am planning to scrub my hair immediately upon returning home. OK toodles for now!

Another great cause that I wanted to mention is as follows…The Saint Baldrick’s Foundation (according to their website)…

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government, more than $12 million in 2009 alone!

Each year, 160,000 children are diagnosed with cancer worldwide. Cancer is the number one disease killer of children in the U.S. and Canada. Research saves lives.

To date, over 106,000 volunteers have shaved their heads in solidarity with kids fighting cancer at more than 2,400 emotional events in 50 states and 24 countries…

A good friend of mine’s Husband will be shaving his head in solidarity on MARCH 12, 2010 at Fado Irish Pub in Philly.  This is a wonderful cause and I urge you ALL to donate!  Please click on this LINK for more information to help.  And like always, email me at jessdownes@yahoo.com with questions!
