“Something Borrowed” and Something Bought

Hmmmm let’s start with something BOUGHT…got a new Speedo suit at Zappos.com- FREE overnight shipping.  I went for a traditional hunter green tank suit to round out my swim wardrobe at a whopping 2 suits.  Hehe- today is swim day so the old Nike will be making an appearance.

OK, enough of that.  NOW, Something Borrowed. SO, on one of my FAVE celeb gossip sites, POPSUGAR, I read the following:

Ginnifer Goodwin to Find Something Borrowed Ginnifer Goodwin is looking for another kind of big love: the actress is in talks to star in Something Borrowed, the movie adaptation of Emily Giffin’s best-selling novel about a woman whose love triangle threatens an engagement. Hilary Swank’s company is producing the film, but she apparently has opted not to star. Fans of the book, are you happy with this casting?

FIRST off, WOOTWOOT for the movie of this coming out, although I am not a HUGE Ginnifer Goodwin fan, but these books are a MUST read.  There are three so far, all linked, but you can read in any order I guess.  I LOOOOVE this author and I pray that she comes out with a newbie soon!  But, until then, I will await the film of “Somthing Borrowed.”  Get these books (by Emily Giffin) NOW!  OMG just checked her site and it appears a new one IS coming out in the Spring called “Heart of the Matter…”

Love the One You're With
Here are the “older ones” in order from oldest (Something Borrowed) to newest with descriptions from Giffin’s site…
Something Borrowed

Something Borrowed tells the story of Rachel, a young attorney living and working in Manhattan. Rachel has always been the consummate good girl—until her thirtieth birthday, when her best friend, Darcy, throws her a party. That night, after too many drinks, Rachel ends up in bed with Darcy’s fiancé.

Although she wakes up determined to put the one-night fling behind her, Rachel is horrified to discover that she has genuine feelings for the one guy she should run from. As the September wedding date nears, Rachel knows she has to make a choice. In doing so, she discovers that the lines between right and wrong can be blurry, endings aren’t always neat, and sometimes you have to risk all to win true happiness. Something Borrowed is a phenomenal debut novel that will have you laughing, crying, and calling your best friend.

Baby Proof

From the New York Times bestselling author of Something Borrowed comes a novel that shows how someone with a ‘perfect life’ can lose it all—and then find everything.

Darcy Rhone thought she had it all figured out: the more beautiful the girl, the more charmed her life. Never mind substance. Never mind playing by the rules. Never mind karma.

But Darcy’s neat, perfect world turns upside down when her best friend, Rachel, the plain-Jane “good girl,” steals her fiancé, while Darcy finds herself completely alone for the first time in her life…with a baby on the way.

Darcy tries to recover, fleeing to her childhood friend living in London and resorting to her tried-and-true methods for getting what she wants. But as she attempts to recreate her glamorous life on a new continent, Darcy finds that her rules no longer apply. It is only then that Darcy can begin her journey toward self-awareness, forgiveness, and motherhood.

Something Blue is a novel about one woman’s surprising discoveries about the true meaning of friendship, love, and happily-ever-after. It’s a novel for anyone who has ever, even secretly, wondered if the last thing you want is really the one thing you need.

Baby Proof

From the author of the smash hits Something Borrowed and Something Blue comes a novel that explores the question: is there ever a deal-breaker when it comes to true love?

First comes love. Then comes marriage. Then comes . . . a baby carriage? Isn’t that what all women want?

Not so for Claudia Parr. And just as she gives up on finding a man who feels the same way, she meets warm, wonderful Ben. Things seem too good to be true when they fall in love and agree to buck tradition with a satisfying, child-free marriage. Then the unexpected occurs: one of them has a change of heart. One of them wants children after all.

This is the witty, heartfelt story about what happens to the perfect couple when they suddenly want different things. It’s about feeling that your life is set and then realizing that nothing is as you thought it was–and that there is no possible compromise. It’s about deciding what is most important in life, and taking chances to get it. But most of all, it’s about the things we will do–and won’t do–for love.

Love the One You're With

The New York Times bestselling author of SOMETHING BORROWED, SOMETHING BLUE, and BABY PROOF delivers another captivating, straight-from-the heart novel. This is a story for everyone who has ever wondered: How can I truly love the one I’m with, when I can’t forget the one who got away?

Ellen and Andy’s marriage doesn’t just seem perfect, it is perfect. There is no question how deep their devotion is, and how naturally they bring out the best in each other. But one fateful afternoon, Ellen runs into Leo for the first time in eight years. Leo, the one who brought out the worst in her. Leo, the one who left her heartbroken with no explanation. Leo, the one she could never quite forget. When his reappearance ignites long-dormant emotions, Ellen begins to question whether the life she’s living is the one she’s meant to live. LOVE THE ONE YOU’RE WITH is a powerful story about one woman at the crossroads of true love and real life.

THESE BOOKS are a must read-I promise!  Have you read any of these?  Please comment!  I am so excited for the new one! Toodles!
