Thank you to Caitlin for drawing my attention to this (I am pretty embarrassed that I did not already have it on my calendar)…

It’s NEDAwareness Week!
February 21-27th

NEDA is the National Eating Disorders Association.  According to their website

The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by eating disorders. We campaign for prevention, improved access to quality treatment, and increased research funding to better understand and treat eating disorders. We work with partners and volunteers to develop programs and tools to help everyone who seeks assistance.

In 1999, NEDA established a toll-free helpline and has assisted more than 50,000 people find appropriate treatment. Tallying more than 50 million web hits each year, NEDA is proud to serve as a clearinghouse of information on eating disorders.

While perusing the site, I saw their recent AD campaigns, which are “right up my alley” and very clever…

Eating disorders affect many more people than one would think and I hope that you can take this week to reflect on your personal relationship with yourself (even moreso than food) and join the movement towards ED awareness.

PS:  ANNOUNCEMENT!  I have decided that in approaching my 30th birthday, I WILL BE GETTING a tat!  I will be getting the following symbol…

  1. I’m rapidly approaching 30 too & was thinking about a tattoo!!! Although I have no idea what I would get or where I would get it.

    I’m a mess 🙂
