Totally. Liberating.

Yesterday on my way home from work, I have to admit- I was bumming…big time.  Mondays just don’t do it for me anymore.  And yesterday was particularly blah.  Anyway, as I was sitting in traffic, getting antsier and antsier by the minute, I knew what I had to do…LACE UP.  I pulled over on Kelly Drive (Philly’s premier running destination in my opinion), changed my clothes, and WENT!  Well…not exactly true.  I clearly misjudged the weather as I exited my car first in shorts and a TANK TOP!  After running to the bathroom to prepare for my run, I ran BACK to my car to put on a hoodie.  Cool beans.  Much better.  Anyway, off I went.  Man was the wind strong!  I had it against me on the way out and my headphones blew out of my ear FOUR times!  Under one of the over passes, I actually could feel myself running in PLACE due to the crazy winds pushing against me!  Anyway, the way back was way faster and less windy with the wind at my back.  I ended up running about a 5K (3.1) miles in about 28:00.  Good time, but moreover, it just felt SOOOO liberating to be healthy enough to just strap on my sneaks and go.  I realize how incredibly blessed I am to have this ability and to be able to enjoy it and everything life has to offer.  This was a really important thing I ruminated on while running.  Lately, I have been dealing with some issues surrounding my pending 30th birthday. I know it sounds silly, but I really am having a bit of a late quarter-life crisis in grappling with turning 30. It’s not that I think 30 is old, it’s that I am resentful towards myself for not FULLY living my previous 29 years and allowing myself to miss out on that FULL LIVING.  There are a lot of deep-rooted reasons for this, of which I will not bore you with on this blog, but the point is that I can only move FORWARD and live my life from this point on with no regrets.  OK, enough of that.  NOW, some questions for you…Comments please!!!!

WHAT IS LIBERATING FOR YOU?

WHAT AGE HAS BEEN THE MOST DIFFICULT FOR YOU TO “TURN” THUS FAR?

DO YOU HAVE ANY REGRETS?  IF SO, HOW DO YOU/HAVE YOU RESOLVED THESE ISSUES?

toodles!
