Bad Girl Makes Hasty Decision…Leads to New Purchase

So, you might remember (or not) that when I first got into running back in November, I immediately bought a Garmin to track my runs.  I was most specifically interested in time and distance.  I originally purchased the Garmin Forerunner 50

Garmin Forerunner 50 Workout Sports Watch w/ Heart Monitor + Foot Pod

But have YET to figure out how to track and/or display distance and I have had it since November!  It has a seperate foot pod and heart rate monitor that I could not link up for the life of me!  So, I did what any idiot simple-minded person would do…I bought another one.  Nope, not the same because that would just be too ridonk 🙂 LOL.  I ended up going with the Garmin Forerunner 305 that I saw on Tina’s blog.  Thanks, girl!

I hope this one works better for me. It looks and sounds WAY easier.  I hate that I am like that; if I can’t figure something out immediately I get annoyed and ditch it…Hence the reason I am not into video games.  I hate sucking at stuff.

Anyway, I wanted to leave you with a quote from an old Edwin McCain song I was listening to the other day. I like this quote.  Very interesting.  What do you think of it?

Like a stone in a stream
Life smoothes all our edges
‘Til we barely make a ripple any more

Do you ever feel like life has just “gotten to you” in a way that your edges “have been smoothed” but not necessarily in a good way?  Ponder.

The Workout Bailout and a Shout out to J-Simps

Hi all!  Interesting title no?  I bet you are intrigued!  So yesterday I could NOT for the life of me get in a good workout. I cannot remember the last time this has happened. I simply just wasn’t feeling it. I couldn’t get it together.  My plan was to do 45 minutes of cardio on the Cybex…

…and I did about 20 minutes and then bailed to hop onto the stair torture machine…

…which I also bailed on in 5 minutes…

THEN, I tried to get in on a Yoga class.  Guess what…bailed on that too after 15 minutes.  I felt SOOOO lazy!  I don’t know what was wrong with me but I tried to work through the guilt and call it a day.  At least it gave me time to clean my car out and begin overhauling cleaning the house.  Bummer.  Does this/has this ever happened to you?

Moving on and quite appropriate, I was listening to Jessica Simpson’s new song, “Who we are” which she debuted on the Ryan Seacrest show yesterday.  I’m not really feeling the beat/song persay, but the lyrics are definitely something to think about…

Who we are
Who we are
Who we are

I have to take control
So much is left untold
Trying to find myself
At times its hard to know
Who we are, we are, we are

Words can cut so deep
Weighing down on me
Time and time I see how vicious the world can be
Who we are, we are, we are

We’re beautiful
Our flaws and all
They’re beautiful to me
It’s who we are, who we are
It’s who we’re meant to be

We’re beautiful
Our flaws and all
They’re beautiful to me
It’s who we are, who we are
It’s who we’re meant to be
Now never change a thing

We all have broken days
To paint it on our face
It gets too much to fake
And we wanna hide away
Who we are, we are, we are

Inside, inside

We’re beautiful
Our flaws and all
They’re beautiful to me
It’s who we are, it’s who we are
It’s who we’re meant to be
Now never change a thing

You’ve got to be you for yourself
Cuz you’re like nobody else
Who you are, you are, you are, you are

Yeah

Our flaws and all
They’re beautiful to me
It’s who we are, it’s who we are
It’s who we’re meant to be

We’re beautiful
Our flaws and all
They’re beautiful to me
It’s who we are, who we are
It’s who we’re meant to be
Now never change a thing

Who we are
Who we are
Who we are
