Hi All! Just wanted to post a few of my faves from one of my best friend’s wedding this month. I have known her since childhood and this was SUCH a memorable and special event! Congrats, girl!
In all the world,
there is no one else exactly like me –
everything that comes out of me is authentically mine,
because I alone choose it – I own everything about me – my body, my feelings, my mouth, my voice, all my actions,
whether they be to others or to myself –
I own my fantasies, my dreams, my hopes, my fears –
I own all my triumphs and successes, all my failures and mistakes. Because I own all of me, I can become intimately acquainted with me – by so doing I can love me and be friendly with me in all my parts –
I know there are aspects about myself that puzzle me,
and other aspects that I do not know –
but as long as I am friendly and loving to myself,
I can courageously and hopefully look for solutions to the puzzles and for ways to find out more about me –
However I look and sound, whatever I say and do,
and whatever I think and feel at a given moment in time is authentically me – If later some parts of how I looked, sounded, thought and felt turned out to be unfitting, I can discard that which I feel is unfitting, keep the rest, and invent something new for that which I discarded –
I can see, hear, feel, think, say, and do.
I have the tools to survive, to be close to others, to be productive,
and to make sense and order out of the world of people and things outside of me –
I own me, and therefore I can engineer me –
I am me &
I AM OKAY

Hello there! Happy Monday! This weekend was a blasty and was filled with all things summer! First up, tubing on the Brandywine river. While this was certainly fun all-in-all, it was a BIT cold on the river and there was NO SUN to be seen, so of course I had to make it Jess-filled drama. I ended up bailing about 2.5 hours into the down-river trip. I was SO cold I could not feel my extremities and I got lock-jaw from shivering like crazy. It was NOT cute. The boys left me and I got out, abandoned my tube and walked for what seemed like MILES. I finally found a nice man playing with his dogs and asked for some directions back to where we dropped the cars. About an hour later, sure enough I landed back at the pick-up truck with torn flip flops and a frozed behind. Awesome. BUT, it was fun while it lasted. Sunday we had a bbq picnic. The pictures pretty much speak for the fun times that were had so I will let the enormo gallery following speak for me!
Like some other bloggers I know (Tina, Caitlin, etc.) I decided to celebrate National Running Day yesterday…becuase I can. I am and always have felt SO lucky to have the ability (the mind and body) to run. It is something that is truly liberating, that I am forever thankful for and that I WILL NOT take advantage of. In this post I hail running and compare it to LIFE! So, becuase Mother Nature wasn’t cooperating and dealt out a nice heat wave this week, I had to bring it inside.
Hey, a run is a run, right? Especially when celebrating National Running Day! As long as I’m good and sweaty when done, I consider it a success. I have a date with the river tomorrow anyway 😉
So, tell me: Did you celebrate National Running Day? How?!
Well, HELLOOOOOO there!!!! I apologize for my absence, but clearly life has been getting in the way of my bloggin opportunities! GRRRRR. SO, allow me to catch you up on some exciting news. First off, let’s discuss this post title: I think I PRed in the last 5k I ran which was actually last weekend but again, due to my blogging lag, I am going to shout myself out NOW!
I can only compare it to my most recent 10K
I can’t BELIVE I was top 5 in my group! I have NEVER been on the leader-board! I am BEYOND thrilled with this and hope to further improve my 5k in time for the annual 4th of July 5k in Pound Ridge, in which I hope to surpass ALL men and make the kiddies cry 😉 heehee ANYWAY, speaking of Pound Ridge, NY, we recently returned from our latest jaunt there this past three-day weekend. Much of the norm ensued:
The typical but extremely delicious BBQ a la Dad-In-Law
MUCH relaxation on the deck
Swimming in the pool
And a new addition to our PR adventures: Addie’s ROCK. Yup, you heard me. Ms. Addison apparently found an enormo rock in the backyard, under which she successfully dug to China and gave her father a heart-attack in the midst when he could not find her and resorted to driving the streets looking for “bloody bumpers.” Yea, I know. Gross. Anyway, there she was- under the rock!
And I somehow managed to do a little bit of this…
Like always, we had a lot of this (dogs looking cute :))
As for me, well I certainly enjoyed my lil RnR in “the Ridge.”
I am looking forward to a week of NO traveling, getting back into my running game 🙂 and eating this salad I created over and over again.
So…how about YOU!? What have YOU been up to!?
